Say hello to Howard Byrne, the operator of the Grocery Outlet located in Federal Way, Washington. In 2005, after working for Albertsons for 15 years, Howard knew it was time for a change. He learned of Grocery Outlet from his best friend’s brother-in-law who owned a Grocery Outlet. Howard left Albertsons and began training to be an operator. In 2007, he took over the store here in Federal Way. So far, he has loved serving the community and hopes to do so for many more years.
Howard is proud to own his own Grocery Outlet and enjoys the appreciation he receives from customers. To him, being a Grocery Outlet operator means contributing to the public with no sense of entitlement. He generously donates to the local food banks, gives away gift cards to the Rotary and continuously sponsors organizations with wine and snacks for their events.
When Howard receives gratitude from customers and organizations it makes him really happy, and excited to do more! He can remember one lady who came in and had recently lost her husband. The woman was still struggling and after talking to her and making her feel better Howard bought her groceries.
Howard loves providing great products at unbeatable prices to customers throughout the Federal Way area. He hopes to continue operating and serving the people for years to come. To his current customers, Howard would like to say, “Thanks for the support.” For everyone who has not visited Howard at his Grocery Outlet he would like to say, “Shop us first and you will save!
